About Dr. Hawa
Dr. Hawa is a renowned gynecologist who has dedicated his career to advancing the field of minimally invasive and robotic gynecological surgery. With a passion for women’s health and a commitment to providing the highest quality care, Dr. Hawa has become a leader in the field, transforming the way gynecological procedures are performed.
Dr. Hawa completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and his Masters in Neuroanatomy at the American University of Beirut in 2001 and his medical degree at the University of Balamand In Lebanon where he graduated with honors in 2005 . His passion for gynecology was ignited during medical school where he consistently ranked at the top of his class. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Hawa embarked on a rigorous residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington University Hospital , honing his surgical skills and clinical expertise.
During his residency, Dr. Hawa developed a keen interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, which led them to pursue additional fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecology at GWU AAGL MIGS program in 2011. Here, he worked under the mentorship of leading experts in the field, perfecting his skills in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery.
Dr. Hawa has made significant contributions to the field of gynecology through his pioneering work in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his findings at national and international conferences.
Dr. Hawa has developed innovative surgical techniques that minimize patient discomfort, reduce recovery times, and enhance surgical precision. He has been at the forefront of adopting and improving robotic-assisted surgical systems, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in gynecological surgery. In 2023 he graduated from Harvard Medical School Surgical Leadership Program with Commendation for the Capstone project novel surgical devise proposal.
Dr. Hawa places a strong emphasis on patient-centered care, ensuring that each patient receives personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
Currently practicing at Capital Women’s Care in Loudoun County, Va he serves as the Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecology. Here, he leads a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, providing comprehensive gynecological care to women of all ages. Patients from around the world seek out Dr. Hawa’s expertise for a wide range of gynecological conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic organ prolapse, and ovarian cysts.
